Project's research tools

This project involved a systematic variationist study of CG with data from Greek Cypriots living in Nicosia, Cyprus. Linguistically Cyprus is characterized by diglossia: Greek Cypriots speak the local variety (Cypriot Greek) and a standard variety (Standard Modern Greek). To do so we adopted the ‘sociolinguistic interview’ in order to study two sub-varieties of CG and examine speakers’ attitudes towards the L and H variety.
